- 30 years active and reserve duty in the US Army (Infantry/Special Forces Officer).
- Active duty tours in Germany and at Ft Bragg.
- Reserve assignments in Special Operations units serving in South America and the Middle East.
- Multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
- Original member of Task Force Dagger in October 2001 in Afghanistan.
- Retired as Colonel in 2011.
- Awards include Legion of Merit and 3 Bronze Stars.
- Special Forces, Ranger, Airborne (Jumpmaster), Expert Infantry Badge, and Combat Action Badge.

- Currently head Family Investment office – Robin Sage Asset Management.
- 30+ year career in investment management.
- Career culmination in leadership position with Virtus Investments Partners (VRTS) - assets under management $200 billion.
- Worked for other financial firms to include Merrill Lynch, Neuberger Berman, GE Asset Management, and Ridgeworth (Suntrust’s asset manangement arm where I was a Partner).
- Career functions performed include: Board of Directors, organizational management, and institutional fundraising. Extensive travel.

Personal
- Live in Atlanta suburb with my wife, Patricia. Three children, oldest a 2014 USMA graduate.
- Currently serve on the West Point Association of Graduates – Finance Committee. Previously member of Board of Advisors, Investment Committee, and Thayer/Distinguished Graduate selection committees.
- Currently serve as an Honorary Consul General for Monaco for Southeast US.
- 2008 and 2010 was Democratic nominee for US Congress outside Atlanta.
- In past, served on numerous veteran-related Boards.
