Colonel (RET) (NG) Keith Kurber
Keith Kurber II has been married for 43 years to his best friend, Nola. They have four adult children, their spouses, and eighteen grandchildren to keep them young. Keith retired as a Colonel from the Alaska Army National Guard in June 2011, concluding thirty years of Army service, split fairly evenly between Active Duty, the National Guard, and the Army Reserve; that service included three combat mobilizations in the Global War on Terror.
Keith’s civilian work experience included a decade as an employee of the State of Alaska and almost two decades as a vocational Christian pastor; at the conclusion of their ministry time, Keith was selected by Governor Mike Dunleavy to serve as a Regulatory Commissioner, serving in that role from 2021 to 2024. Both Keith and Nola are now retired and look forward to spending time with their adult children and their families, as well as some travel and golf. Keith is grateful to Dan York for the opportunity to begin a hoped-for writing vocation with this contribution to the Class of 1981’s 45th Reunion Book.
