Mark Cheben
I’m Chebs. Company F-4. No rank. No title. No advanced degree. Didn’t write a book. No initials after my name. Just Chebs.
After flying helicopters until 1986, I spent my career in the Home Services industry. Plumbing, HVAC, windows, doors, millwork, electrical, insulation, crawl spaces. Nothing glamorous, but essential. Moved around a lot and fixed a lot of companies/ branches. Doubled net profit in less than 18 months, 10 times in my career. I just used the talents God gave me to see what needed to be done.
My real pride and joy is what my two boys and wife have accomplished. One, a West Point ’10 Ranger, Aviator, NightStalker, and Line check Captain with Frontier Airlines. The other, a NightStalker DAP chief, Distinguished Flying Cross recipient, and Homebuilder.
Cindy has done more for women and children in 40 years than I could ever mention, her true fame was as the owner of the #1 ranked Florist in Annapolis for 14 years. They used to decorate the Supe’s house every year for the holidays, and she would always hide a “Beat Navy” button somewhere in the house each year. I’m so proud of what each of them has accomplished and given to others along the way.
I’m still Chebs. Running hard, enjoying life with Cindy, the boys, and our 4 grandchildren right down the road in Nashville, TN. Salud!
