Dr. Roy Ray
I am Dr. Roy T. Ray. My family and I are truly blessed. My wife, Melissa and I have been married for over 38 years and live in Chester, VA. Melissa is active leading many activities at our church and is involved with several community groups. Our youngest son Andrew is a Human Resource Generalist at Carpenter Company in Richmond Virginia. His wife, Meredith is a pediatric nurse at Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. They are expecting their first child in October 2026. Our oldest son Thornton works for Guidehouse LLP and serves as a Major in the Air Force Reserves in medical administration. Our daughter-in-law, Rachel was an emergency room nurse and now she is a homemaker. They have two children, Rosalie and Hawkins.
I have been a member of the United States Army for over 48 years as a cadet, Army officer, and Army civilian. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. I have a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma City University, a Master of Science in Education from Old Dominion University, and a Doctor of Business Administration from Liberty University. I am a Certified Professional Logistician through the International Society of Logistics (SOLE) and retired as a civilian army employee at the end of January 2026 with over 24 years’ service as a professor at the Army Sustainment University.
I served over 24 years as an army officer and retired from active duty in June 2005 as a Major. I was an aviator and logistician qualified in the UH-1 and the CH-47B, C, D. I was deployed to Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Additionally, I had multiple operational deployments with Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR) and Southern European Task Force (SETAF).
I have published one article for my doctoral dissertation entitled “Leader Behavior in Successfully Completing an ERP Implementation at an Army Installation”.
I enjoy attending sporting events, exercising, and reading.
I have been blessed by each person I have served in the past and look forward to serving you and others in the future.
