LTC (ret) Tim Stoy
Tim had three tours with the 15th Infantry: 2-15 IN in Wildflecken, GE; 4-15 IN at Fort Knox, KY; 1-15 IN in Schweinfurt, GE. He served as G-5 of 3ID. He served as Wartime Host Nation Support Project Manager in the Deputy Chief of Staff, Host Nation Support, US Army Europe, then served as G-5 for the 2nd Armored Division (FWD) in Garlstedt Germany, followed by duty as the G-5 for 3rd Infantry Division in Wuerzburg, GE He had three tours as a FAO in Army G-2 as a Chief of Staff Intelligence briefer.
His first tour was as a senior analyst for Western Europe and Africa. He had consecutive tours as a senior analyst for Afghanistan, Central Asia, and Mongolia from 2006 to 2012. He served a four-year tour at the Joint Analysis Center for EUCOM in Molesworth, UK, as Chief of Analysis and Strategic Analyst for Europe. He served four years as the US Army Exchange Officer at the German Armed Forces Staff College in Hamburg, GE.
Since retiring from the Army, he and his wife, Monikia, have been military historians. His focus areas are the 15th Infantry Regiment and 3rd ID. He is a Distinguished Member of the 15th Infantry Regiment and a recipient of the Audie Murphy Award for outstanding service from the Society of the 3rd Infantry Division. He is a member of the Order of Saint Maurice in the grade of Centurion from the National Infantry Association. Tim and Monika conduct a historical seminar in the Northern Virginia area on Operation Dragoon and the Battle of the Colmar Pocket from WWII and the Korean War, both wars in which 3ID played a prominent role.
