LTC (ret) Tom Schwartz
Thomas J. (Tom) Schwartz was born and raised in northern Ohio, the eldest of nine siblings, eight of whom eventually served in the U.S. Army, Air Force, or Navy.
After graduating from West Point in 1981, he served in command and staff positions in three cavalry squadrons, was the Chief of Mission Division at the USA Recruiting Command, and his final assignment was as Professor of Military Science at Texas Christian University. His passion was for training and mentoring young officers and cadets.
After retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2001, he began a second career in finance and risk management, working for companies such as AmeriCredit, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and Innovate Auto Finance. This second career was punctuated by a one-year tour in Afghanistan as an operations research analyst for the Joint IED Defeat Organization.
Tom and his late wife Traci raised a son, David, and a daughter, Lisa, and have one granddaughter, Carmen. He has since remarried to Lesa Jane Parish of Weatherford, TX, and in retirement, they enjoy trail riding, traveling, and the occasional day of cattle work at her family ranch. During the school year, Tom has taken up substitute teaching at local school districts to continue developing our future leaders.
