William H. York
MS - Human Resources Management
William York departed active duty in 1986 and moved to Houston, TX. He spent forty years working in human resources and executive search at some of the fastest growing companies in the world. He was an early pioneer in the world of internet recruiting and posted the first job online in the mid-90’s before most knew about the internet. Leading college recruiting teams and spending time on many campuses around the country were special times. Building big recruiting engines, hiring tens of thousands of new employees annually, will be his professional legacy. Spending time with and getting to know those who shaped and changed the world with technology are all part of his many stories.
Coaching over 100 sports teams (Baseball, football, basketball, soccer, and track) for his son was a big part of his early life. Giving back to kids and the sports he played as a kid was very important to him. Road trips in the RV and lots of time on the water with family and friends were a big part of his world.
The new chapter involves a big move from Texas to Marrowstone Island in Washington state in 2027. He & his wife are building a home there and plan to retire overlooking fabulous views of the Puget Sound. Growing apples, cherries, plums, pears, and vegetables will be some of his daily chores, along with playing golf, fishing, and painting some pretty views along the way.
